Business Development Services
Critical to the survival and growth of small and medium sized
enterprises (SMEs), business development services (BDS) are
those non-financial services that enable a company to receive
support while focusing on their core business. These services
can be broadly divided into the following five categories:

GBD services has assisted governments and international donors
develop appropriate demand driven programmes in support of
small and medium enterprises. Drawing upon international best
practises related to private sector and market development, GBD
has successfully designed and reviewed BDS interventions.
ASSIGNMENT: Business Development Services (BDS)
Programme Development
Client: Savings and Micro Credit Programme - Government of Eritrea & The
World Bank.
Overview: In partnerships with ICC of Zimbabwe, developed a BDS
programme for the Eritrean Government (contracted and funded by the World
Bank).
Led a local team of researchers to assess the constraints experienced by
small and medium sized businesses.
Designed a demand driven intervention for a three year national pilot project.
Developed strategic plan, operations and training manuals for programme
implementation.
